How does electroplating work for precision parts?
Electroplating uses an electrochemical process to apply a thin, even layer of metal (e.g. gold, rhodium or platinum) to the component. This protects the surface from corrosion and wear while giving it the refined, lasting lustre that premium writing instruments and luxury accessories demand.
Which lacquering processes does Robert E. Huber offer?
We offer special lacquer finishes for metal and precision parts, individually tailored to the colour, gloss level and durability required by each application. From subtle matt to high-gloss surfaces, we create finishes that meet the visual and functional standards of the premium and luxury industry.
What sets CNC manufacturing at Robert E. Huber apart?
Our CNC manufacturing covers turning and milling. Our precision turned parts production works to tight tolerances on modern automatic lathe systems, reliably producing even complex, delicate geometries in series. Our many years of experience from southern Germany go into every single component.
What is guilloché and what is it used for?
Guilloché is a precision engraving technique in which fine, repeating line patterns are machined into metal surfaces. At Robert E. Huber, it is used above all on premium writing instruments and precision accessories to refine surfaces with a unique, handcrafted-looking pattern – a technique that has been part of our core craft since 1937.
Which materials are used for precision turned parts?
We mainly process high-quality metals such as brass, silver, stainless steel and aluminium, which are equally suited to guilloché, electroplating and lacquering. We base the specific choice of material on your project’s requirements in terms of appearance, durability and further processing.
What is rotary swaging and what is it used for at Robert E. Huber?
Rotary swaging is a forming process in which workpieces are shaped by radially acting hammers, for example to reduce diameters precisely or to taper components. At Robert E. Huber, rotary swaging is used for precision parts with special geometric requirements.
Does Robert E. Huber also offer laser engraving, embossing and personalised engravings?
Yes, alongside guilloché, electroplating and lacquering, our finishing processes also include laser engraving, embossing and printing. This allows us to create individual lettering, brand logos or personalised engravings on precision parts and writing instruments.
